Sico REN, PhD (Wuhan University), is the founding partner of Lapis Capital. With over 15 years’ management experience in the IT sector, Mr Ren has been in the senior executive position of Chinese public companies for a number of years, including Topsec (Stock No. 002212) and VRV (Stock No. 300352), where he also participated in several investment and M&A transactions. The portfolio companies that Mr Ren invested and manages include Fengniao.com, Century-Wonpennon and Zhongheng Power Energy.
Mr. Yu holds a doctoral degree and has served as the General Manager, Director, and Chairman of Tianrongxin (stock code: 002212) from 2010 to 2020. Mr. Yu has served Tianrongxin Technology for more than 20 years, leading the company to become China's leading provider of network security, big data, and security cloud services. For many years, the company has maintained the highest market share in these sectors and successfully achieved an IPO. Since 2019, Mr. Yu has personally overseen the successful invested more than a hundred companies listed on Beijing Stock Exchange and the NEEQ market.
Chengjiang WANG, EMBA (Peking University), has almost 30 years’ management experience in the IT sector, and is very familiar with the operation and management of state-owned enterprises and publicly traded companies. Mr Wang used to be the senior executive of several reputable domestic IT companies, including Inspur (Stock No. 000977), Sugon (Stock No. 603019) and SuperCloud. Mr Wang personally invested in Opzoon and Baosi (Stock No. 300441).
Chunxu GU, Senior Economist, was the president of Wanma (Stock No. 002276) and its related companies, and led Wanma to achieve a successful IPO. Mr Gu personally invested in Jiemei (Stock No. 002859), Taiyu Soft and Zhongheng Power Energy.
Chen SHAO, Master of Finance (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), has over 30 years’ experience in different types of business and investment, and is very familiar with electronic, information and nonmetallic mining sectors. Mr Shao used to be senior executives of state-owned enterprises, administrators of industrial associations and independent outside directors of overseas public companies. Mr Shao also participated in some major transactions, including Zhejiang Furun’s M&A, Changan Renheng’s IPO, and several nonmetallic mining companies’ shareholding system reforms and IPO preparations.

William LEE, MBA (Ivey Business School), was the executive director of Capital First Partners, and participated in the establishment and investment of three venture capital investment funds, and facilitated a number of companies’ M&A transactions, including All Day (584 million RMB) and Vanzotec (860 million RMB). With over 15 years’ management experience in different sectors such as IT/TMT and manufacturing, Mr Lee used to be the general manager of Boloni’s international business division, the B2B marketing director of ChinaHR.com, and senior executives of AMD and Dell. Mr Lee is also a guest investor of an entrepreneurial TV programme produced and broadcasted by CCTV.
Simon GAO, Master of Finance (Cambridge University) and MSc Intellectual Property (University of London), was a founding member of ARK Venture Studio in London, and led ARK’s fund formation and funding initiatives, as well as venture building and venture financing. Mr. Gao also worked at China Soft Capital and Tech China IP Financial Services Group (aka Zhongji Group), where he obtained skills and experience in equity investment (venture capital & growth capital), debt financing, fintech and M&A. Mr. Gao is also a qualified Chinese lawyer, who used to practice law at international law firms, incl. Simmons & Simmons.
Mr. Ma, a qualified Beijing Technology Manager, worked for China Siwei Surveying & Mapping Technology Co., Ltd., under China Aerospace Science and Technology Group, and the technology commercialization center of the State Grid Corporation of China. For years he has worked on the discovery, incubation, and commercialization of technologies in the field of electronic and information technology, as well as building new businesses in key industries. He has participated in the formation of a number of investment funds focused on technology industrialization. Currently, he is responsible for the incubation and financing of projects in the sectors of electricity and energy, transportation, and aerospace.
Dr. Sun, Senior Engineer, graduated from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and worked at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and LeEco Group, and has obtained substantial experience in industry, technology, and intellectual property. Dr. Sun has led a number of key projects at the MIIT, such as industrial research and analysis, state-owned enterprises’ technology protection, and establishment of enterprise intellectual property systems. In recent years, he has focused on the capacity assessment of enterprise technology innovation and empowering enterprises, by providing professional support in technology innovation, intellectual property, standard making, etc., and has helped a number of companies with their strategic planning to become SMEs in specialized new sectors.
Eric WANG holds a master’s degree from Nanchang University, and is well experienced in sectors related to technology and intellectual property. Mr Wang used to be a system engineer at Space China, and a patent examiner at the State Intellectual Property Office of China. Mr Wang now focuses on areas in relation to technology finance, and is good at evaluating companies through their technology and intellectual property. Mr Wang has successfully provided almost a hundred technical SMBs with financial and IP services. As a partner of Lapis Capital, Mr Wang leads the business division in IP services.
